About Me

I began my career working for regional and national newspapers and magazines. I spent 12 years as a writer/researcher at Newsday, Long Island’s Pulitzer-prize winning daily newspaper, where I covered parenting, human interest profiles, and local events. I also worked as a freelance writer for a variety of publications, including Woman’s Day, The Newsday Magazine, WOW, and Florida Today.

And then — hundreds of articles, columns, and sidebars later — I made a career pivot. A big one. In 1998, I founded D&T Distribution, Inc., a wholesale footwear distribution business. Since its founding, D&T Distribution, Inc. has served over 1,000 retail customers nationally, including Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, Shoe Show, Hallmark, Ron Jon’s Surf Shop, and others. As President and founder of this small family-owned business, I wore many different hats, including marketing, PR, sales, and customer service. For nearly 25 years, I oversaw all marketing and communications strategy and content development for the company, developing B2B copywriting and visuals for digital, social media, print, email, and experiential marketing campaigns.

In addition to my day job, I am also deeply committed to my monthly volunteer work at The Haven for Children, a non-profit organization licensed by the Department of Children and Families of the State of Florida to provide therapeutic shelter for children who have been removed from their homes.

In my free time, I love gardening, interior design, spoiling my very good dog Julie, doing DIY home improvement projects with my husband Tim, and FaceTiming with my two beautiful grandkids.
