My Work

I've primarily focused on B2B marketing and communications copywriting for my own small business over the past 25 years. But before becoming a small business owner, I spent 12 years writing human interest journalism for regional and national consumer publications.

Below are a few examples of my writing, in case it's helpful — please excuse the haircuts and occasional references to now-ancient technology, like VCRs and beepers. It was the '90s!

In a feature for Women's Day magazine, I documented my totally DIY basement renovation project.

In this personal essay for Newsday, I explored my bittersweet feelings about my then-6-year-old son's burgeoning independence.

In this opinion column for Woman's Day, I shared my (unfortunately too common) experience trying — and failing! — to get my insurance to cover a breast biopsy after a troubling mammogram.

In an essay for The Newsday Magazine, I explored the phenomenon of over-scheduling our kids.

For Newsday, I wrote about a supposedly fun thing that I definitely never did again: Going on a cruise with family friends ... and all our children.

In this opinion column for Florida Today, I waxed poetic about the luxury of sitting still for a few hours to watch my teenage son play baseball.
